Wall - Fini - Labor Day Weekend (2008)

To appreciate this...start from the bottom...then up..... The caps of the wall are on...the 4 steps....and even a couple of planters. :-)

...the Wall continued...

this project started the end of June and I was determined to have it finished by Labor Day...
Once the first row was in, the rest was (fill in the blank)........

...a Sunday morning in August.....(notice second step is in)
Sunday afternoon....(third step is in...two more rows added...and time to bury the first row)

The Wall

Summer project 2008 - This project might not involve sewing, but I think it deserves to be included in my blog...
Railroad ties removed.....digging the ditch to slope away from the garage...
tarp to keep the dirt from washing through the stone wall and laying the foundation.
The pallets...

By Special Request

Kitchen Towel Bibs - I found the directions online. Fun to make (for me anyway). And appreciated by Ange and friends. I call them "Peek-a-Boo" bibs...no strings to tie, or buttons to fumble with, or hook and loop fasteners that get stuck on other clothes in the dryer... Stretch over baby's head and.....(you get the idea)...Here is a sampling:

A family tradition.

"Door Ties"

Sew What

If I could, I would sew all day. And since retirement for me is a few years away, I will continue to sew and cross stitch and craft in my spare time.

What will follow in the days ahead will be pictures of the projects I am currently working on and maybe even some projects I have completed. To my family who will be reading this...remember the cheesecloth ghosts that took up the floor of our living room? My form was a bent hanger with a softball entwined hanging from a kitchen chandelier. Cheesecloth was dipped in starch and hung overnight to dry. The ghosts sat on newspaper on the kitchen table waiting for black felt eyes to be applied. ...........Hmmmm.....maybe I could make them again....for the grandchildren....
